Understanding Vegetius

Both the Mulomedicina and the Cura boum written by Vegetius during the 5th century are in the process of being edited again by Marie-Thérèse Cam and the author for the Collection des Universités de France. Establishing as well as translating the text are particularly difficult due to its manuscript transmission. Four selected examples taken from the most complicated difficulties (fistula pruriginaria, clavatum ferreum, filum laesisse et dentes cavatos) demonstrate that a multidisciplinary approach is needed , particularly when dealing with the history of science.
